well, i picked up my order the day before thanksgiving. I never realized how many BOXES! there were going to be. Lucky for me I rented a pickup truck to bring everything home. One word of advice for anyone ordering cabinets for their entire kitchen and decide to pick them up yourself. BRING HELP! You really do need help just in checking off the list of items that are ordered. I ordered 15 kitchen cabinets and assorted pieces of filler and toe kicks and cover panels. There were over one hundred boxes. Be sure to have someone with you that can help lift the heavy, long, boxes such as the cover panels and pantry.
It took a quite a while to load them onto the truck and secure it down for the journey home. Be sure the person with you is a relative, this way they HAVE to help you unload the truck once you get home.
Once they were unloaded into the garage for temporary storage before bringing them into the house, we enjoyed
turkey
day. Then the festivities began. We decided to unload the boxes into piles.. setting up a pile of boxes for each separate cabinet. (also another good way to make sure you have all the boxes that were ordered). Once this was done, we took one of the cabinets down stairs and started to unpack. Being the first cabinet to be unpacked, we looked forward to getting it assembled and see how it would look in the kitchen. Much to our dismay, one of the pieces was damaged. So now, we decided to look through each and every box and make notes of any damage to other pieces and make one fell swoop to the customer service number.
We were pleasantly surprised to contact them and identify which items had minor damage, but needed replaced. The person at the customer service desk was helpful and took all the information and apologized for the inconvenience. As of now, i'm just waiting for the replacement pieces to arrive so that I can start mounting the wall cabinets on one of the walls.
PHEW! we did mange to assemble the pantry and stand it up in the kitchen.. but not attached to the wall since the one cabinet that was damaged is the next in line.
Further updates to follow...but from what i can see with the one cabinet in place, its going to be a big improvement of whats in there now.
