Hi,
We're new here. We went to IKEA West Sac last Friday and spent hours figuring out things. My wife has redone the kitchen again and it looks great. Now, we're wondering how long it takes for IKEA to recieve an order (probably fax) to having it ready for us to pick up. We're going with the Fagerland style.

I think it depends a *lot* on the particular store, what they have in stock, what's in their local warehouse etc. Is IKEA West Sac as in Sacramento? This is what we have as far as store info for West Sacramento so far:

Sorry for the slightly flaky formatting, I copied it from the admin section of the article/ glossary system. That part of the glossary isn't live yet, so it's a kinda awkward way to pull info out. Once the system's live the first time in a post that Sacramento is typed it will provide a link with the info. Anyway, I'd give them a call and ask? The kitchen dept of a store is likely to be the only ones that can answer questions about order legth for *that* store.

Hi David: West Sacramento is where I ordered my cabinets from - they are pretty quick. I sent them the order form via FAX and they sent me a draft order within 2 days - I made changes - and gain they FAXed the draft order back. I took the draft order to the store and they quickly (5 minutes ?) turned the draft order into a real order and I paid upstairs in kitchens. I then went downstairs and arranged for delivery. My kitchen cabs were delivered the next week. If you want to order totally by FAX you will need to FAX your credit card to them - I didn't feel comfortable doing that ... you can call them and let them know you will be FAXing the order and your card - and they will stand by the FAX.

I've got adel birch in the kitchen and some fagerland cabs in the bathroom - the fagerland was ordered after the kitchen and I had to wait 7-10 days for them - and then picked them up from the warehouse off of Del Paso.

Weekends are crazy at West Sacramento - the kitchen dept is much less busy during the weekday.

Can i just say that i love west sac , they always seem to have things in stock that Emeryville is out of. I would have needed to wait 3-4 months for my counter, yet was able to drive to sac and get it that day. amazing!
And the lady in the kitchen dept (forget her name, but she's a heavily accented european who used to work in emeryvill) is great!

Hey Dulci - I think that you're referring to Eivor ? She is wonderful... incredibly knowledgeable, patient and so helpful and friendly. I've worked with a couple of the kitchen employees... and she's my favorite of them!

Yes Doreen, that is who i'm talking about! She's great. She used to be at Emeryville and was the first Ikean i ever used, so IMAGINE my surprise when my next ikean was grumpy old Luis in Emeryville

Hi All,
Thank you so much for your posts. We ordered all by fax, and after a bit of waiting for responses and a missed phone call on my part, we got the whole order done last night. FWIW , they have told us 7-10 days to have it in.
