Options for 12" deep base cabinet

I am planning to use a 12" deep base cabinet under a wall cabinet ( both 21"). What are my options for the base configuration. Do I have to just use a door or are there drawers that would fit this set up?

Thanks, Liz

Re: Options for 12" deep base cabinet

I believe the 12" deep drawers only come in sizes 15, 18 and 24. If you want drawers instead of doors, you could get a 18 cab instead and filler the remaining 3 inches???

Re: Options for 12" deep base cabinet

The cabinets don't necessarily need to be 21", I could go with the 18" for sure. Happy to hear that a shallow drawer is available. Do they have drawer fronts on do I use a door with drawers behind? No filler needed as this is on an open ended wall.

I've been blogged!
Re: Options for 12" deep base cabinet

the "half" drawers (as to not get them confused with shallow) are drawer boxes so you can either attach a normal drawer front of a rationell interior drawer front.
they act just like normal drawers but are 9" deep
they're so cute.

oh, and the dampers are in the glides, you don't attach them like normal sized drawers

Thanks Dulci. I'm happy to know I can have drawers there, I love drawers!

Liz, you can get the same drawer fronts as for the three or four drawer base cabinets that. The four drawer front sets come in 15" and 18", I think. The three front drawer sets come in 15", 18" and just recently 24".

Re: Options for 12" deep base cabinet

One of the things I was reminded about today while at IKEA was that if you get the smaller drawer front (6"?), you don't get the raised panel/decorative panel, you get a plain slab.

Re: Options for 12" deep base cabinet

Here is the pantry wall with a 24"x88" pantry, a 15"x88" pantry, a 12" deep 18" wide base cabinet and a 18" wall cabinet. I'm putting the micro in the 24" pantry, what configuration would you recommend. Also for the 12" deep base cabinet.

Yes, it is sort of a bummer - but I have seen drawer fronts in custom kitchens where even the really shallow drawers have stiles and they just look wrong. I think up to about 6-7" a slab is a better look.

Re: Options for 12" deep base cabinet

Now if only someone could help me finalize what door style I'm getting. Lidingo or Adel Med. Brown, kinda of leaning more towards Lidingo, goes with our cottage style house.

Liz

p.s. I am going to post some additional photo's of displays I saw at IKEA today, they are more close up photo's than of the entire rooms.
