Using Abstrakt doors on PAX (match Lomen?)

Hi there,

We are planning our PAX wardrobe for the one of our bedrooms (more to follow, all going well with this one!).

I have two questions:

1. Does anyone know if the Abstrakt (kitchen) doors will fit on the PAX system? I am pretty sure that I saw Stat (kitchen) doors on PAX in the store...

2. Will the colour and style of the Abstrakt white doors be the same as the Lomen? I am thinking it is close - we are planning on using Lomen as the main doors. We are heading back to the store very soon but it would help with our planning if we knew ahead of time!

Basically the reason for this is that we have an immovable object on the wall that we are putting the PAX on and, if we made a cutout in the back of one of cabinets, a 92cm Abtrakt door would cover it nicely (wouldn't open but would conceal!). Anyway, the layout is hard to explain - but we do have a need!

Hi! Welcome to IKEFANS!!

I am worried that the AKURUM line (kitchen) doors are not drilled like the PAX doors are and you'll end up with a hinge that works with the door, but won't work with the box, or vise versa. I understand that you don't need this one to open, but I don't know how else to get it on...

Is there a reason you couldn't use PAX Drammen doors- which are pretty much the same look? PAX comes with lots of different door fronts, so it's likely you saw Ballstad, Lomen or Birkeland on the PAX at the store.

hmm. ok. resurrecting a thread from the dead here, because it may help some

I am currently working on a mixed faktum / pax wardrobe (because here buildings have wierd shapes that prevent things to fit).

after going back and forth a good dozen times between the wardrobe department and the kitchen department at my local store, I can say that

faktum and pax are build with a similar structure
doors are drilled similarly
integral 125 hinges are usable with pax doors (including the rationnell pistons)
side holes are at the exact same location (so that you can use faktum tablets within pax, as long as you only use the 50cm wide pax, there are no 1m wide faktum tablets)

ok. just tested the integral 125° hinges on PAX with a faktum abstrakt white door... they fit.
now, will have to buy a pax lomen door to see what happens next
