Hi to everyone, finally signed up after being a big fan of these forums lol. Could anyone who has purchased the global lamp give me some info on how tight they turned the screws (to stiffen the arms on the lamp). I found to get the lamp to remain in a fixed position and not fall down when returning home that I have to tighten them to the point where I can't really tighten them any further. Just a bit worried on the thing breaking on me, thanks for any advice guys.

If I read your post correctly, it sounds as if you've tightened the screw as far as possible, and the lamp still isn't tight. Do you have a small scrap of wood, about 1/2 - 3/4" thick, that you could place between the clamp and your desk top, then tighten the clamp, so that it isn't "stretched" to its limits?

Thanks for the reply, the clamp that fixes onto the desk is fine, it's the screws for the "arm" of the lamp that caused me trouble. The issue is fine in itself and the arm is stiff and can stay in whatever position I set it to. However it's just that I tightened the screws to the extent that they cannot be tightened anymore and am just curious if this is normal, thanks for your help.
