Hi guys! First post here at IKEAFans, though I'll plead guilty to grabbing new copies of a ton of instruction manuals that I've lost or misplaced. I recently got a new flat panel TV, and I need something to put it in -- and I really like the look (and price!) of the EXPEDIT TV enclosure at IKEA. The nearest IKEA store is about a 2 hour drive from me, though, so I want to make sure my TV will fit in it before I make the trip to get it! Does anyone know the inner dimensions of the TV area on the enclosure?

Hi Kelly, and thanks for the warm welcome. Still really curious about this -- I tried calling my local IKEA earlier to see if a customer service fella or fellaette could help me out, but the automated answering robot thing hung up on me before I could get through to a real person. If anyone has this TV cabinet and a tape measure handy, I'm dying to know! Long weekend is the perfect opportunity for an IKEA-bound roadtrip.

I want that same TV stand! Unfortunately, I don't have it yet, but I have asked this question before and was told the maximum it could take (whilst allowing for air circulation and what not) is a 32" TV. However, I found another answer on this very board, that said a 42" would be a REALLY snug fit (I really want a 40 inch, but I don't mind a 37").

I went to Ikea today and I couldn't believe my luck - the Expedit TV unit was in the showroom! I measured the enclosure myself and they are as follows: 104cm (40.9 inches) wide, 69cm (27.2 inches) high and 36cm (14.2 inches) deep. A 40inch TV would be very tight, but I think a 37 inch TV would be the perfect fit.
