When I went to IKEA today to make changes to an order I placed yesterday, the salesperson mentioned that the 10%, 15%, or 20% kitchen promotion had been extended till next Sunday, 5/10. It originally ended today, 5/3.

The kitchen sale extension is nationwide. It may in part be due to the postponement of a sofa event. Sofas for North
America
are dominantly manufactured in Mexico, and the factories are closed for at least a week by swine flu, so there is not enough inventory to cover projected inventory needs for an event at the moment.
Ordinarily, IKEA has kitchen sales in the spring and in the fall. So, watch around October - November? Although they might do more specials this year, given the economy. That's my prediction anyway.
