Re: Up To 20% Off Kitchens (Min $2500) March 4 - May 1 2011
My wife and I are looking to put Ikea cabinets in our kitchen and are trying to work out the details on whether to buy in-store or have delivered through the online store. Does anyone know if this sale is valid for online purchases as well? I see the promotion advertised on the website but have found no details. We live in a non-IKEA state - excluding sales tax, gas and truck rental fees, delivery is close to a wash. The 10% promotion might be the swinging factor.

Anyone have any luck trying to price adjust? We have purchased our entire kitchen in the last 2 week and it kills me to think we could have waited and gotten the sale price!

Okay, so I just got back from my Ikea, and asked a few questions about price adjustments and such. The Ikean I spoke to was a bit evasive, but finally said every Ikea is different, and the customer would have to come in with their receipt and discuss it. I got the impression that there is no set corporate policy at any of the Ikeas, but if a customer comes in and asks, a store will consider it. SO, to those of you who are fuming about having just missed out, I'd hike myself over to Ikea, receipt in hand, and throw yourself on their mercy. It might just work!

There is an older thread here on a 40% kitchen sale that specifically says the policy is to give you the discount on purchases made in the previous 2 weeks.
A couple of folks tried that, and it seemed to be true for at different stores. I don't understand why some things seem to be so ad hoc and secretive sometimes at IKEA?
Go in and insist taht the policy is 14 days, you are probably correct and will know more about it than thesales person!
I had a lot of angst about the same thing years ago, when I bought a laptop from Best Buy online. It went on sale before I recvieved it by UPS. I was afriad I would not be able tio buy one of the limited dsales items in the stoire, as it was a high demand item at a great price!
I took it in and asked if I could do something, like return it and then rebuy it or something. They didn't bat an eye, said "of course you get that discount", and gave it to me immediately! I was really inmpressed, because it is very stressful not to know what the policy is, how they are going to treat you, if you are going to have to "beg", if you are going to just have to return the item and give up if they really treat you poorly, etc.
Best Buy earned a **lot** of positive good will from me that day! They have done the same many, many times since then by being professional and having common sense policies, and giving discounts with a smile! They also had great organixzxation at a Black Friday sale I went to one year, for example - like handing out slips for the limited availabilty items to people depending on place in line, so that folks didn't try to run and fight and elbow to get to a counter first ... (Unlike Meijer, where a few of us stood in the wrong line for almosty an hour because of incorrent signs, then had to go to the back of another line in a completely different department ...
I have been frustrated lately finding info on sales for my local IKEA since they staoped mailing flyers.
When I was leaving the
Canton
Store in Michigan, yesterday, I saw on their calendar taht they will have a sofe sale that starts March 21. I think it gioes through March 28th, with upo to 75% off, but I didn't catch (remember) which line of sofas, etc.
Now I cannot find the sale anywhere online, since they stopped posting the monthly "events" ad for that store. Any help? Thanks!
Good luck folks!
Best, Michael

Should I assume there is a possibility that Ikea might have a similar sale again this Spring? Delaying 6 weeks would be very easy for us. particularly if it meant a 10% discount
