Ikea will be offering 10-20% off kitchens with a minimum purchase of $2500 between March 4 and May 1. This isn't supposed to be advertised yet. Confirmed for the Seattle store, but the rep I spoke with believes it will be national. Discount breakdown:

10% Off $2500 Minimum Any Kitchen Purchase
15% Off $2500 Minimum w / 2 Appliances ($199+)
20% Off $2500 Minimum w/ 3 Appliances ($199+)

Discount is at the register (calculated by kitchen design person and written on a coupon) and includes the appliances. Everything must be purchased at once.

I hope this helps anyone in the market. I'll be saving ~$1000 by waiting one week.

Thanks for posting this! I suspected a sale was in the works at my Ikea, as the kitchen department has one whole corner hidden by drapes...I took a peek one day when no one was looking, and there were huge "SALE" signs waiting to be assembled. I really hope this sale IS national..for once, being a procrastinator might actually pay off for me!

UGH. This makes me sick to my stomach. After hearing that there would be no more kitchen sales (from the lead Kitchen Sales guy in North America ), we undertook our kitchen reno last fall. Didn't save a dime. Seems a crime after running this site for the last six years!!!

Save "instantly" sounds like counter discount no giftcards. The way it's worded also sounds like the 15 or 20% applies to your appliances as well so that could be a very big savings if you had enough cash to buy everything at once.

My store hasn't posted the sale... I may have to go inquire tommorrow.

I don't suppose IKEA has a "price adjustment" policy, the way other large stores do? (i.e., if you purchased a kitchen within the last two weeks/30 days, etc. and go back with your receipt during a sale, they'll give the customer a credit for the difference in price). A lot of stores will do this, but they won't advertise the fact. Not sure about IKEA's policy on this, but it might be worth asking about. Has anyone tried this? We newbies would love to know....

I was thinking the same thing! I think I'll ask and see what they say, although I didn't purchase mine all at once. It was a little bit each week over the past several weeks. It doesn't hurt to try though!
