How to cover a vika table top with wallpaper!

Just wondering if i could get some practical advice from you creative people!

I have a white vika tabletop, and i want it to co-ordinate with my new wallpaper, i have seen people cover table tops with fabric (glued on i presume) and i'm just wonderin if the same would be ok with wallpaper?

1. How would i adhere the wallpaper to the table top?
2. What would i use to 'finish' to make sure i could wipe over the top of it?
3. Has anyone tried this before?

Thanks in advance for your kind words!

Re: How to cover a vika table top with wallpaper!

I think the best way would be to get a glass top made for it as I can't think of anything other than Blue Peter style 'sticky back plastic' which I don't think would wear well... Glass or some sort of clear (or maybe frosted?) acrylic/ perspex.

Hope that helps

Since Vika is steel, almost any good glue would work. A couple of coats of polyurethane would make the wallpaper wash and wipe-able.

I do like the glass idea better. I would sandwich a piece of the wallpaper between two 1/4" pieces of glass. That way I could change it whenever the redecorate spirit touched me.
