Lack strong enough to hold an Expedit?

I have a 5x5 Expedit with drawers and doors in it, but id like to get it about a block higher. A lack is the perfect size to fit under the Expedit, but im not really sure how strong it is. The Expedit is quite heavy on its own, plus the drawers and doors, plus all the junk in it.

Anyone have experience with this?

Cheers,
-V

Re: Lack strong enough to hold an Expedit?

Which Lack are you referring to? If it's the TV unit, it may be strong enough, but I personally wouldn't count on it. If you mean the shelving unit on it's side, I'd be worried about the corners breaking if someone bumped into it. Also, all of the Expedit and lack series are made of honey comb, so finding a place to join them both will be tough as there is little material to tap into. I'm personally not to crazy about this idea because of the stability. If you take this route it may help to add little extra corner and back support to the units, as well as a little bit of support within the center shelves.

Re: Lack strong enough to hold an Expedit?

I think it would be unwise to expect any LACK to support a loaded EXPEDIT. ...are you talking about the bench thingie?
Could you put it on top or maybe figure out a way to wall hang it? Neither of these are ideas I'm crazy about either but with some crafty support building it might be ok.
