I have a Besta TV cabinet (the Enon:
IKEA | TV solutions | Flat screen- TV furniture | BESTÅ ENÖN | TV storage unit) in black/brown, with two doors in the Holmbo finish. The cabinet is designed for the doors to mount on either side but I want to bi-fold them, so they fold flat to one side. I'm thinking a hanging track and roller system for the moving door, a piano-hinge between them, and the regular Ikea hinges on the fixed door.
Like all Ikea cabinets the doors flush-mount on the outside of the opening (rather than inset). This rules out the usual folding closet door hardware, which uses a fixed pivot and allows the door to encroach into the opening as it closes. Everything needs to stay on the surface.
I did find a Klein system, the NK PAR-15, that looked like it would work (
http://www.richelieu.com/docs/docume...525/4_1_An.pdf), but it's prohibitively expensive -- like twice the cost of the cabinet itself. It's really only the track and roller that I need, since (at least with the Klein kit) it looks like I can use the stock Ikea hinges.
Lil help? Thanks in advance.
