We have installed a beautiful new kitchen and added a pax system as a pantry but installed Akrum wall cabinets over them to utilize more of the space we have. HOWEVER.... we forgot to account for the extra height that is necessary to install the sliding glass doors. We have added cover panels to the end of the pax, extra spacers in between the Akrum cabinets up above and although the Pax doesn't run along the entire wall, all of the Akrum's that were installed on that wall and thus run into the corner that also matches the height, will have to be removed and reinstalled for the extra 1/4" that is needed to get the sliding glass doors on. So..... how do we install the sliding glass doors without having to put the plastic piece and metal track up over the top of the Pax boxes?

Some people have installed the doors onto walls, and I think that would be your best approach. Here's one example:

You'd have to cut the lip off the back of the track, and then install a piece of lumber or particleboard at the top of all the Paxes for the track to rest against and be mounted to. You'd probably want to make sure that is reinforced with L-brackets or something sturdy.

This would drop the doors down 1/4", but the brackets at the bottom track should have enough adjustment room to make up for that.

No guarantees it would work, but that's what I'd try.
