Hi all,

I am new to this Ikea Hacking business, so sorry if this is a newbie question.

Having discovered the versatility of the EXPEDIT shelving units, I am trying to use them as bookcases. In the UK you can get 2x2, 1x5, 2x4, 4x4 and 5x5 units, but not the 1x1 you can get in Spain . I have more or less figured out how to build other sizes (1x2, 1x4, etc), but annoyingly I need a 1x3 unit.
I have seen that others have managed to get a 3x5 unit by "shortening" a 5x5 one (http://www.ikeahackers.net/2009/12/e...ster-home.html), but I have found no instructions on this shortening procedure.
Can someone point me to the instructions for shortening an EXPEDIT unit to a size of 3, if they exist?
