Re: Can Hopen Wardrobes be hacked?

I wanted to purchase this set however my ceiling is 226/227cm's, please can someone confirm if there is any way I could get these to fit.

Would the removal of the plinth be the only way? If so I think I'll still be a few CM's out depending on the actual size of this.

If only my ceiling was a little bit higher!

Thanks

Darren

Re: Can Hopen Wardrobes be hacked?

I suspect that a 226cm ceiling is going to be a bit of a stretch (or rather a shrink too far?).

The doors themselves are 226 cm, so you really don't have a lot to play with.

What WOULD work, depending on the location, would be to buy the doors, build a bespoke frame, and then install the interior drawer units. That way you can even have more control over the wood colour and overall shape.

Another alternative would be to buy the units, trim them to fit from floor to ceiling, screw supporting blocks of wood into the floor and ceiling and then mount the cabinets onto those, and the doors onto the front as normal. (This was my backup plan if it turned out that we couldn't get them to fit.) Any offcuts could be usefully used to fill in any open spaces - you'd have all the base covers, for a start...
