King sized bed with storage drawers--suggestions?

I'm new to this forum and any help from you veterans are greatly appreciated. I want to put together a king sized bed using a futon mattress, either on top of a wood base or a box spring, and with some storage drawers underneath. These beds are very expensive so I'm hoping to come up with a cheaper alternative.

Sort of looks like this:

Gothic Cabinet Craft - Storage+Bed+w%2F+6+drawers+%281+side%29%2C+King - Real Wood Furniture at Incredible Prices

I would also like to put on a headboard at some time later. I really don't care if the bed frame is made for a conventional bed or a platform bed as long as the base sits high enough off the ground so I can slide some storage drawers in. The finished product does not have to be this professional looking but should look decent. The drawers must slide into an enclosure (like a chest of drawers) so the dust does not get in. Or I can use drawers that come up high enough to the bottom of the bed base so the dust won't get in, but these should have wheels for easy sliding. I'm planning on making a trip to the store so any suggestions before hand would help a lot. Thanks a bunch.

i'm in love with Anderson Ultimate Bed but they're prolly too pricey as well.

Look at http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/ca...bedroom/10639/ for bed "boxes". You can add casters separately to most of these, I believe: I'm sure I've seen them that way in the stores. Ikea sells those too!

Re: King sized bed with storage drawers--suggestions?

In my previous house the bedroom had a weird ledge on one side of about 20 cm high. I got the old Ikea bed of my parents which had little legs, put two legs on the ledge and put two 4.5x4.5 cm wood beams under the others, and used pieces of angle iron and straight iron to fix those beams to the floor and legs of the bed, so the legs couldn't move. Then under there we rolled some Ikea bed drawers.

Moral: As long as you fix it well, you can rest your bed on pretty thin legs and put anything you want under it.
