Hello,

For my hallway I'd like something I can store shoes in, but which acts as a bench I can sit upon as well. However, due to the size of my hallway I have some limitations: it may not be any deeper than 37 cm, and not wider than 121cm. Also, it must be sturdy enough to sit upon, and I'd like two heights, one for shoes of about 15 cm (may be on the ground) and one for hiking shoes, skates etc of 35 cm. And the last demand is that I'm on a budget, so I was thinking in the 30-50 euro ($40-60) range. And the last demand is that is has to be available in Ikea Netherlands :-) However I don't mind taking a trip to the hardwareshop for some non-ikea parts.

One thing I've come up with is chopping some Ivar legs down to about 50 cm - but I'm not sure the planks can hold my weight, the web site lists them as only capable of 30 kilos.

Any ideas?

I have the Norrebo bench in my "hallway". I think it might be about a cm to deep for you though, but thought I would mention it just in case.

I found a cushion on line that fits it perfectly. And I put dividers inside the roll out section for shoes. Its a little more awkward having to roll out the bench to get to the shoes, but the nice things is, it hides the shoes!
