Discuss 2009 IKEA kitchen planning software... on IKEAFANS.com. We're Personalizing the IKEA Experience. 2009 IKEA kitchen planning software... - Discussion, tips and tricks for using the IKEA Home Planning software..
i'm back! it's been just over a year since i did my ikea kitchen...and i've sold my house and bought a new one that needs...a new kitchen!
so, i'm back to planning, but when i tried to download the new planning software i got the FY2008 version. i asked at the store and they said "huh, we have the 2009". okay, that's not very helpful.
so, tell me, what the heck did i do wrong and where can i get the 2009 software!
thanks! i look forward to all your wonderful advice.
for those who remember my kalsebo kitchen, i don't think i ever posted final pictures. here is a slide show from the marketing material i used when i sold my house. the buyer of my house said they bought it because of the kitchen...
toxi - congratulations on selling your house ... and for the comment from the buyer that its' the kitchen that sealed the deal (you did a great job on that kitchen!!).
I'm sure your new kitchen in your new home will be just as nice ...
I'm looking forward to seeing kitchen #2 in your new home. How's your new job ??

i'm still getting the 2008 when i download. frustrating.
also frustrating, i'm feeling completely uninspired. i have done the measurement, mapped out the room...and then i get to putting in cabinets and i'm just blah.
I wasn't successful with downloading from the kitchen sub-site; searching for "Ikea planner 2009" led me directly to their "Home Planner" link - so you get the bedroom and office furnture sets as well. But it's the 2009 version.
Since last year, all three versions (kitchen, bedroom and office) have been integrated into a single program. Before that, you had to install each one separately, but all it did was add the corresponding items to the program's database if one of the other components was already installed in your machine, so the end result was basically the same.
Technically speaking, it's the same program as last year, with only a new database (the executable is still exactly the same: version 1.9.25). Even the installation file name is the same, differing only in size: ~13MB for 2008 and ~17MB for 2009.
As with last year's version, even though the database contains a lot of new and cool stuff inside (eg.: lots of new PAX stuff, including Ardal sliding doors, etc), mostly none of it is available from the program itself.
While I was able to hack last year's version to access most of the hiddien stuff, the hack I used didn't work this time (yet), so I'm still trying to figure out how to access all the goodies that were left out of the program's list for no logical reason.
Please note that
AFAIK
, this applies mostly to the US version, although I have also tried the Canadian version and the results were exactly the same, except obviously for the currency differences. The UK and AU version also seem to have similar limitations when accessing the items versus the internal contents of the database.
