our architect has made a mistake and built the kitchen on the US Home planner instead of using the EU/
UK
one. Does anybody know how to 'convert' the file?
I've tried uploading the .fpf file to the site using US software and downloading using EU software but it doen't seem to work.

I'm very sorry to say that it's not possible to convert your drawing for the US software to the EU since they use completely different models for the kitchen cabinets.
Even we at IKEA can't help you there I'm afraid.

Also, keep in mind that it's not a simple converstion, since almost all the cabinets are not the same equal size. For example, the metric sink cabinet is 80 cm, or about 31.5 inches; however, the big sink cabinet in the States is 36 inches wide. So the entire layout would be off-sized.
Also makes for a real problem looking at American-based designs on here, but our cabinets in Australia are completely different in width, length, and height. Things just wouldn't fit properly, because it's not a straight conversion.

Oh yes, this is a very good point as well.
