I installed the latest kitchen planning software and put all of the base cabinets in, but can't seem to figure out how to add the wall cabinets. I was reading through other threads and saw a tip about increasing the height of the ceiling, but that didn't seem to work. When i try and drag the cabinet, it won't go any higher than the base cabinets. Help please!
In the 2-D planner when you have the base cabinets in place you can drag the wall cabinets and place them above the floor cabinets. The planner then puts them on the wall. Sometimes the planner gets picky when using 39" cabinets. In that case it does help to raise the ceiling so to speak.
Yes, as crg2mls states it's better to try and add them in the 2D view first and then adjust them in the 3D view.
However if you're still having problems just post your drawing and we'll make sure to help you.
I don't have enough room to put the 30 inch cabinets, so I need to use the above the fridge cabinets for all my wall cabinets. I can't seem to get them up though. Is there a trick to where you need to move the cabinet? I put it right on top of the base cabinet and it won't stay there. Will the program not allow me to put above the fridge cabinets in places other than above the fridge?
I was playing around and did get a 30 inch cabinet to stay, but i know that it won't work in my kitchen.
Granted, I have the non-US version of the planner, but I added the small wall cabs both before and after the base cabs with no drama. This makes me think it's something to do with the layout of the room itself. Have you tried to attach one of the cabs to the wall that has no base cabs and then move it where you want it?
I feel like i have tried everything. I have clicked and dragged the cabinet and put in so many different spots, but it just won't stay. I think I am going to go into IKEA this weekend and see if they can help.
Just a thought, but if the program is forcing you to put the cabinet over a fridge, why not add fridges, then the cabs, and then delete all the fridges except the one representing your real one? Hopefully the cabs would then stay in place.
Yes, this is a very good work around to your problem as well.
Otherwise just post your kitchen plan here and we'll make sure to help you. Some special designs can require som tweaking before they work,

It might be better to cut down the 30" cabinets or use stacked horizontals. It would help if you could post a plan with details, even just the empty room and an explanation about wall heights.
