IKEA Home Planner - Warning 6
Cabinet next to wall
This is a warning you get when placing a cabinet up against the wall.
Although technically cabinets can be placed directly next to the wall, it is good practice to allow 2-3" of filler to prevent handles/knobs from hitting the wall. With a cabinet with drawers, it is important to allow for possible variations in the wall that might prevent a drawer from opening all the way.
I get the warning message on my base cabinet and my high cabinet when they are placed against a wall, but why don't I get the same warning on a wall cabinet placed directly above the offending base cabinet? Seems to me if the bottom cabinet's door is going to smack into the wall, the upper cabinet's door will too.
Am I missing something?

Hello,
No, you're not missing something.
This is unfortunatelly a limitation in the software that causes this behavior.
The wallcabinets are tricky you see, we can't configure them in the same way as the base cabinets as they don't stand on the floor.
These kind of things are a big reason why we're changing the entire platform for the homeplanner.
Speaking of which, you might want to keep your eyes open for a sneak peak in october in a specific Scandinavian country
Best regards
