I'm posting my best guess of your room getting rid of the middle wall ??? - let me know if it's near to what you've got.
Generally speaking... I'd suggest using larger cabinets - you seem to have a lot of small ones ganged together - you might have reasons to do that but you lose a lot of flexibility (not to mention the width of all the extra cabinet sides) when you use for example two 15" cabinets v. one 30" one.
You don't have to match uppers to lowers necessarily - depends on your needs and how you feel about the overall look...
