Computer illiterate

I am a mac user. I generally create my kitchen designs thru firefox & then access my files at IKEA.
I thought I would simplify all my problems by purchasing a laptop & downloading the kitchen planner & I would be off to the races. I bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro & it won't allow me to download the software.
Should I be buying a particular kind of laptop or do I need to add something to this new Toshiba???

Re: Computer illiterate

hello and welcome!

i'm surprised you're having problems since the planner is very windows friendly. were you at all interested in a mac laptop...it has the option to boot up windows (bootcamp?)?

have you tried another browser? i use google chrome on a mac and it's like...heaven.

fwiw ...the file may not have been downloaded/installed to the correct folder. i only mention this because it happened often on a previous version (for mac) and i had to place it in both the main library and the user library.

good luck.

Re: Computer illiterate

I foolishly thought that a PC laptop would solve all my issues, but it has only added to my frustration.
I'm returning the Toshiba & buying a new Macbook Pro. Best to stick with what you know & go from there.

Re: Computer illiterate

FWIW , I used to be able to use the Ikea planner on a PC in Firefox until recently but now the planner only seems to work in Internet Explorer.

I bought the 17" Macbook Pro this afternoon & it loaded up the planner in a heartbeat. We're off an running.
