Sorry for the *very* late response... Susan and I have been pretty sick with the kids and I'm just now starting to dig my way back out from under the backlog of things on the site. We've made *some* progress on the revised site navigation in the mean time though, so at least there's something to look forward to.

I tested the file, and it seems to download fine on my machine and on my remote admin system (I.E. it's not something special to my machine or internet connection), so I'd speculate that there's something in the security settings on the machines that are having a problem downloading the file that is preventing them from getting it. In any case, I've emailed a copy out to all the above requesters, my apologies if it's too late to be of use. I'll put some email routing rules in place to make sure I see requests like these right away. In general PM 's (private messages) are a faster way of getting in touch if you're having a specific problem. Thanks for your patience as we continue to work towards a better, more responsive system in our copious "spare time". Hopefully we can work on this full time someday, but for now it's still just an "as we have time available" kind of project.

Do you know if there are different versions of the same bed over the years? ( IE : updated model with different hardware, etc) The one I have, has a few differences than the one in the pdf file. Mine says BANGSUND 18765 & 0403 are the numbers on the label. The pdf file says P.V. 2001 and the label on my bed says P.V. 1999

Tips for Bangsund Assembly:
(which could apply to other IKEA assemblies, in principle)

• For faster assembly, you could use a "screw gun" or electric screwdriver with a hexagonal bit. We found a Torx bit that was the right size and did the job nicely. The bit is sadly unmarked so I can't give you the exact number, but it seems to be a 25 or 30 at least.
• Permit yourself a lot of space, at the ends especially. You will be coming in from the end with screws, so allow at least 12" clearance to get in there - particularly with the screw gun. We started in a confined space and soon found ourselves frustrated.
• A rubber mallet will be handy for knocking in the wooden pegs. A regular hammer could work, but can distort the pegs if you strike too hard.
• Eight of the screws have tubular nut-type connectors with flat-head screw notches on one side. They are easy to misalign, but putting a flat-head screwdriver bit in that slot and gently rotating the "nut" back and forth while driving the screw will make it easy to catch the threads.
• If the tubular connector "nut" things get stuck inside their holes and you need to get them out, use a magnet.
• The top rails are different; don't mix them up. One has a notch for the sliding door, while the other does not. If you put them on the wrong sides, you will have to take the bed part-way apart to get them out and back in the right way.

I hope these tips help someone assemble or re-assemble their bed successfully. We have found the Bangsund to be an excellent bed - great for kids, but perfectly fine for a college student as well.
