Glad to have found this site. How exciting!!
I am new to the site and hope to see a lot of how to's and before and afters on this site. It's one thing to go to the store and see all the wonderful ideas put together on the showroom floor, but quite another to get the pieces home and make it look exactly as you saw it. I hope to gain that experience here.
Is there a link on this website to IKEA's display rooms? That would be good. I was tempted to go to the store with my digital camera and take pictures of the displays that I saw and liked. Will I get in trouble for that? Does anyone know? Let me know as soon as you can. . . depending on what you tell me, I'll know how to proceed.
When you moved to Italy, was your kitchen empty? I've seen some episodes of "House Hunters" set in Europe and the Italian houses one couple looked at had completely empty kitchens.
For you, since it's the right place and season, here's a photo I took Sept. 2001 in Florence:
I am in a small town in Italy called Varese. So you have tried to take photos? Oh, I wish I could..maybe I will try to be discreet, but with my fortune, I will be caught and thrown out of the store. hahaha.
Only been here 5 months, and yes Erikakn...there was nothing in the kitchen, or the bathroom, and no closets. You have to do all the work yourself!!
You said that there are links on this site to different rooms? I'll have to check it out.
We've taken many hundreds of pictures in IKEAs, and only once have I been told that it wasn't allowed. Not sure why at that store and none other, but I never worry about it. If they say anything to you, I'd just offer to put the camera away and say that you didn't know better....you were just gathering ideas for your next project.
That said, check out the Galleries, in particular the Store Displays category. We have far more kitchen displays than any other, but I've got lots more photos I need to upload - in fact, this might be the perfect project for a cool rainy fall day.
Have fun!
Susan

Thanks Susan for your reply. I'll give it a try...fortunately, I don't speak very good Italian...so I could be the perfect foreigner and pretend I really didn't know..hahaha, I'm just kidding.
Please let me know when you upload those photos...
Hi Ikeaforever- just click those links Susan provided and you will see thousands of photos of IKEA kitchens, both in the store and in real people's homes.
Welcome!! We would love to hear how you're progressing!!
Will do, but I would also like to see bedrooms and living rooms such as Eva's. Do you know if there are any of those on the site? I have checked through the showrooms, they were nice, but didn't see too much other than kitchens.
