Welcome!
Susan and I have done some work on our kids rooms, mostly storage systems though. Our daughter's room was vastly improved with the addition of two BONDE storage systems with pullout bins to organize her clothing, and we just finished redoing our son's room by adding the SULTAN ALSARP box spring/storage unit with two storage baskets underneath in addition to the tons of space in the box spring itself. I've got a brief writeup in the
Calling all serial remodelers! thread, but I can try and take some more pictures tomorrow if you like.
We haven't done a play room per se, but if it's for daycare I'd probably recommend the ARLIG white doors and full soft close options on *EVERYTHING* good insurance against pinched fingers, and the ARLIG is so inexpensive that replacing a door/drawerfront would be *highly* economical. Alternatively, you can check and see what's available in your local AS-IS room? When door styles are discontinued they get marked waaaaay down and then put out on pallets in As-Is for pennies on the dollar.
