While I'm new to this site, I am sitting amid a clutter of IKEA products in my home. We have everything from the plush alligator to cabinets to a sofa bed from IKEA. We are in the midst of a small remodeling job: adding a bar to the alcove between kitchen and living room. I thought the project would be a snap because I walked into the nearest IKEA with a complete parts list of the items I needed. I'm back to square one, though, because IKEA has discontinued the matching cabinet fronts I need. I've purchased the cabinet parts, but I'm back to square one as far as the doors and drawers. If anyone has a good suggestion for Plan B, I'd love to hear from you.
i assume you need a match for hallarum? Boy, I don't know what to tell you- depending on where you need the items, you might opt for a contrast instead of trying for a match from IKEA...other options include custom door fronts to try to match...
I'm not looking for very many pieces: 2-12" base cabinet doors and 1 set of 15" 3-drawer cabinet drawer fronts. It is difficult to mix other fronts into an existing set.
I have looked at the new Nexus Yellow Brown. It doesn't look as nice with the countertop in the rest of the kitchen. I wish the grain wasn't so open, I don't have any oak anywhere in the house. Also, the warmer, redder Hallaram matches my furniture.
From what I've read elsewhere on the site, IKEA discontinued this style as early as 2006. Since Hallarum was still listed in the 2007 catalog, I was unaware that my opportunity to finish off the kitchen area with the right fronts was in jeopardy. I'm surprised they haven't been able to find another door/drawer supplier who offers a closer match to this style. Maybe I merely have bad timing and they'll come up with something next year.
Thank you for your welcome and advice. I'm trying not to let my frustration overwhelm my sense of proportion. After all, it is just 3 cabinets.
JoAnn, don't give up hope! Every once in a while some Hallarum comes up on our Swaps and Exchanges board. Take a peek over there and leave a post, it cannot hurt. In the meantime, welcome, and please chime in wherever you find something interesting! It's nice to have you here.
Thank you for the words of encouragement. There were a few pieces of Hallarum available at the end of last year, but the appear to have been snapped up quite quickly. I will keep checking.

hallarum, I actually moved one of your earlier posts to swaps and exchanges, so no need to create a new one unless you want to edit the content to be specific about your door needs.
While I've bought Nexus as a stop gap, I haven't attached the handles. YES, I guess I would be interested. I need 2-12" doors and the 15" front for the 3 drawer cabinet.
