I'm an Italian young woman, I'm currently near Bologna, but I'm going to move between Genoa and Alessandria for love.
Just for this reason, on past Sunday I bought a new Ikea kitchen to "dress" the new flat where I'll go to live with my boyfriend in a few weeks (we already co-habited, but 2 years ago they moved him to Genoa with his job).
I'm so excited for the kitchen, I can't wait to have it home, they said it'll be delivered at the beginning of July.
I bought the style called "Lidingo" in white with the worktop in oak.
I really liked it immediately because actually it made me feel "at home", it's classic, neat and warm.
I'll keep you updated with my news, I'd like to know you all.
Let's keep in touch, greetings from Italy, ciao,
How exciting to be getting a new kitchen and a new chapter of life at the same time! I and my family are 2nd and 3rd generation Italian-Americans and someday we will take a trip all through Italy, from Sicily where my husband's family is from to the Piedmont area my family is from. We'd love to see pix...of anything really, but kitchens, food, countryside, whatever is great!

Hi Eva, I love your name =)
Thanks a lot for your welcome, I'm glad to know that you have Italian roots, I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip to Italy (wow, you know, my boyfriend is Sicilian from Catania and we're going to move to low Piedmont).
I'll post some pics soon, in the meanwhile you can find something in the following links (they're my blogs and my Flickr):
I am getting an Ikea kitchen as well. I am choosing the same as you, the lidingo cupboards and oak countertop. We live in an old house and I wanted to keep it a classic design. Granite would be nice, but to be honest I like the wood better and it is alot cheaper!!! I am Dutch married to an Italian and would love to go to Italy one day.
Anyway, I will keep looking and see if you post any pictures of your kitchen. When ours is done, I will post pictures as well.
