Hi Paula! It might have been me, I don't know! But I'm glad someone told you about it, because this is a great place to be, even if you don't have an IKEA kitchen (yet) LOL
Any chance on getting rid of the soffit so you can go with the higher cabinets? It would give you a ton more storage.
If you're going with undercab lights, make sure you get the light rail AND cover panels to conceal the lighting. The bottoms of the cabinets have no lip at all, so you need the rail and the panel (or rail all around) to conceal the lighting.
Is Navajo White your design statement or a default? I love it, it's a beautiful shade, but the kitchen is certainly somewhere you can express yourself a bit more if you're inclined to be a bit more colorful than Nav White might be. I'd love to see a cool wasabi green somewhere in the kitchen, maybe the backsplash? With the Adel MB and a light colored floor (maybe bamboo or maple) it would be stunning.
If you want to stay with the white, I'd suggest the new Tundra white flooring from IKEA, it's stunning.
What color is your countertop? I love the HiMacs, it's such a cool look.
And you gotta love the will-work-for-beer-and-food guys! What would we do without them?!
Welcome, and we look forward to coming along for the ride as you transform your kitchen (and dare I say...your life!)
Being a "handicapped" unit explains why the base cabinets are about 2" shorter than standard. (check out the cabinet to the right of the stove ...and love the dishwasher top overhanging the sink. Yep, this kitchen needs an overhaul. Even as a "handicapped unit it really was not ADA compliant from what I see in the photos.
We are all going to have fun on this kitchen. Time to start posting in the other Forums, Paula. Gotta see your floor plan.
Hi folks! I'm new. I found this great site via some diligent googling for info on hanging a wall-mount Effektiv cabinet. I've got my 1st post and question here, if you're interested. Great site and resource for the Ikea n00b and expert alike. Thanks for your efforts in making it available!
Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome! I'll see you all in the forums.
If that was you Eva, thank you for the info and being so friendly. It's so nice to get a friendly and knowledgable sales person. I'll be seeing you there!!
Hello my name is Lynda and I have just joined after reviewing the site and liking what I see. It's great to see all the good advice and information on IKEAkitchens.
Has anyone recently installed Liljestad in the Toronto, Ontario area?
I am dealing with IKEA and their installer PEG and wondered if someone can give me feedback on their experiences. Right now I am getting frustratedwith being unable to connect with people at both firms to get answers to my questions. This is our first kitchen remodel and we are not do it your selfers so have decided to have PEG do the whole thing for us.
I haven't read here for a few days, so I hope this isn't telling you something you've already figured out. You'll have a better chance of a reply to your question if you post it with a subject like "Toronto IKEA installer PEG".
I am a full-fledged Ikea fan now! My new kitchen is to be installed soon. Hopefully within the next three weeks.
I have greatly appreciated everyone's postings as I've planned my kitchen. Lot's of information and inspiration.
Prior to actually ordering my kitchen, I visited our local Atlanta store.. maybe... um... 25 times? Always checking back on these forums for tips and ideas.
I've got a progress blog (duvboinatlanta) and hope you'll check it out and watch my progress. Right now, as the old kitchen come apart, it's a mess. But the final product will be worth it. The biggest challenges are the mess, the anxiety and the continual whining of my dogs as strangers come into the house and power tools destroy the current infrastructure.
Thanks again to all. These forums have been a great help. And a special thanks to Stacy for keeping this all together! THANKS STACY!!
I think you mean Susan... she's the genious behind the site... I'm just a simple Mod with a kitchen needing a floor... still

Oh, Stacy...you're too modest, and you're not simple at all! You do good work.
harikuyo! Welcome to the site! I'm going to move your post to the 2000+ members thread so that it gets the attention it deserves. We look forward to following your progress -- we love pictures!
Susan

I heard this rumour that there was this website out there making my job alot easier. So I thought I would have a look and see what was going on. Now I might be making an error in mentioning this, haha, but I am a Kitchen Planner for IKEA, and was curious to see what all the hoopla was about.
What a great thing I see happening here, there is lots of shared ideas, inspiration, and a great knowledge of the product. FANTASTIC!! I'm sure I will find many brilliant things that even I haven't thought of.
