I am considering an Oppdal bed to get some extra drawer space but I need some measurement and assembly information from someone who has one. Here are my questions:

1. Can the bed be assembled with the drawers at either end? The pictures on the Ikea site show it with the drawers close to the headboard but could it be assembled the other way with them closer to the footboard?
2. If it can be assembled with them at the footboard, what would the measurement be between the headboard (I would be using my existing Malm headboard) and where the first drawer comes out? We have our bed flanked by two Pax wardrobes so we would need the drawers to be at least 25" from the headboard in order to be able to open them.

Hoping someone has one that can take a few measurements for me.

Welcome to IKEAFANS, Taylor.

The Oppdal bed is not symmetrical from top to bottom, and can't be assembled "backwards". There are design differences between the head- and footboards, but if you don't mind the headboard showing, there's no reason why you can't flip the bed around and put the drawers at the bottom of bed.

As for the measurements, someone else is going to have to chime in on that part.
