Congrats on the influx of members. This is really a
well-done site.

I just signed up and am now planning a new house to be built
on the western shore of Lake Biwa in Japa, It's a
"natural modern" style design, and the kitchen cabinets
will be customized metric IKEA ones with wooden counters.

Check my profile for some pictures of the progress of
the design. I'll be posting a request for comments here
soon.

Ikea has just landed in Japan, and still not on the radar at
all as for built-in kitchens. And it's quite a long distance
from my home, so I am looking forward to a new one opening up
nearby in Kobe.

Interestingly enough, thanks to the IKEA web portal, I've
determined that I can get the same products from the IKEA
Shanghai store for about half the Tokyo price. So I may end
up buying the kitchen in Shanghai and shipping it in.

kitchen ideas. Haven't gotten down to the nitty gritty of
cabinet sizing yet:

that is just such a cool design! i love the oval island, i love the fact that 28" is acceptable passage in japan!

and how funny about shanghai, i know japan is expensive, but man, that is crazy.

We should really start you your own thread at the bare minimum.... i'm going to copy the last few posts and do just that!

And at this point in time, 15,744 members. That's an awful lot.

Yep! And we've increased by over 100 a day for the last 3 days and are on track to break 100 again today.

Saturday, June 30: 106 new members
Sunday, July 1: 132 new members (all-time high)
Monday, July 2: 116 new members (4th highest day ever)

Our previous record was 125 members on June 24th and before that it was 120 from the 17th. Sundays are big days around here.

Hard to believe that we hit 1000 just last June.
