Ric from Herndon VA here just stopping in to say hi. I'm currently in the process of remodeling our kitchen. My wife and I are first time buyers and have been living in our place for a little over a month now. We've been pretty busy and overwhelmed at times with all the stuff we need and want to do with our home. But it's all starting to come together now and it's really starting to feel like home.
The task that we are undertaking now is the kitchen. I ripped out the old cabinets last week and bought our new stuff from Ikea last weekend. I just finished building all my cabinets and am now in the process of finishing up building all the drawers for the base cabinets. BTW, am I the only one that thinks the designers at IKEA are GENIUSES???!!! I mean how much easier can they make it? Most everything has been built with just some screws here, some wood tabs there. A snap here a snap there. Incredible!
Anyway, it's been fun putting together everything and after doing some research here and watching a few very helpful video's it's been blowing up my confidence in knowing that I will be able to finish this project up mostly on my own, and with the help of my wife of course.
Well I just wanted to say hi and leave my praise for such a good site and for a company that I think makes true DIY work just that. Work that you can REALLY do yourself.
Yup, part of the reason I chose Ikea was that I wanted to be involved in the construction of the kitchen for my own personal satisfaction. It will mean so much more to me years later to look around and remember the great time me and the husband had putting it all up.
