Hi from the San Francisco Bay Area!
Hi everyone!
I'm so glad I found this forum! I originally found it by googling for a "magic corner" for the blind base corner I will have in my new Ikea STAT White kitchen.
I'm from San Francisco originally, and just bought a house across the bay in Oakland, a ten minute drive to Emeryville Ikea! Although, I must admit the Palo Alto store has better displays, especially in kitchens.
My house is a stripped Queen Anne Victorian, and I mean really stripped, so we are trying to give her back some charm without going broke. STAT white seems a good choice to recall some beadboard styling we are lacking.
And I love Ikea's super long drapes for the tall Victorian and Edwardian ceilings common around here; floor to ceiling velvet drapes are the BEST window treatments!
My other new favorite site: the Ikea Hacker blog. Those are some crafty and ingenious Ikea fans.

Although i'm known on sight in the ikea emeryville i've been meaning to get down to palo alto, you've now given me the reason to go!

Woo-hoo! Score one for Granite Expo. How were their installers? i've heard mixed, but never actually used their install for granite (see other thread)...
