I have been reading these forums for the past week, and love all of the ideas, kitchen pics and inspiration! I am having problems with the kitchen planner, and I really want to use it to configure a new look for my kitchen. Any help would truly be appreciated.

Welcome! Glad you're here.

If you can give us an idea of the dimensions of the room, location of the windows and doors and any other important info (location of utilities, etc) we'll work something up for you. What door style are you considering?

Well, everything came to a screeching hault...when the house we were going to buy didn't pan out. So now I have come to the conclusion that the home we have now could defintly use a new kitchen. It is outdated and could use some spunk. I have some pictures of it but I'm not sure how to upload them? I have a breakfast nook that I want to combine with the kitchen. Currently we have a ceramic cooktop incorporated in the island along with a stove and refrigerator. Basically, it is the divider between the two rooms. It seems like a big waste of space, and incorporating both rooms would really open up the whole kitchen. I have so many ideas and am currently in love with theSomsjo sink and Lijestad doors, not to mention counter tops that contain NO GROUT!!! LOL

Welcome Buddabelly (I HAVE to ask [we've called our 4 year old's belly a Buddabelly since he was born -- we thought we coined the term!] -- where on earth did you pick up that screenname?!?!?) Welcome to the forums!

If you check out the thread "How to Post Photos and Links" you should be able to get a start, or at least be able to ask specific questions to get you going in the right direction.

In the meantime, as eva suggests, if you have the actual measurements of the room, we can whip something up for you. Sounds like you have a plan for the style, now we just need a design!

Have fun!

Susan

Hi Susan,

Buddabelly has been my nickname since birth. I will measure the rooms seperate and together and see which one works best with the design in my head. I'm hoping that combining the two spaces would really look wonderful. BTW...I love your kitchen, but I'm not sure that Canyon Living promotes white, we liveamidst sooooo much dust and my dogs just help drag it in... LOL

Ok, well...I guess your nickname predecesses our son's nickname by a few years.

Thanks for the compliment! You have to choose your style based on your house and personal preferences, of course. I love the white cabinets, and don't have any real issues with cleanup even though I have a 3 year old and a 4 year old who help cook and load the dishwasher after every meal. We work from home and homeschool, so we're here all day, everyday. I also have stainless appliances and I really don't see it as a major problem. Maybe I have a blindspot for cleaning issues? Possible...

Susan

Stori - welcome! You should take a look at my before and after pictures here: http://http://www.ikeafans.com/forum...mp;forum_id=10

I feel a bit immodest, like I'm promoting my own kitchen, but it used to kind of match the setup you have now. Oak cabinets, peninsula, tile counters, sink in front of big window. I am just ecstatic about how my new floorplan with island instead of peninsula opened up the room. I highly recommend it!

I measured the kitchen two ways: Not adding the breakfast area we have 13x 10 and with the breakfast area included we would have 13x 21. So many options, where to begin...

I can't wait to get my hands on the dimensions, Stori! I think we can make a GREAT family space here. Get that measuring tape!!
