Hi everybody! My sister just two weeks ago relocated from L.A. to Charleston, SC. She needed the instructions for a piece of furniture from IKEA and went on a search for it. She found out about the site by using Google. She loves it and passed on the info to me. I am about to embark on a kitchen remodel. I'm total unaware of the process but I know I want to go with IKEA. My kitchen is very small, about 10' x 6'. I wanto to go with Akurum with Abstrakt red doors and drawers. I love red!!! Maybe I should tone it down a bit but that would be a very itty bit!

I'm psyched to see so many photos with remodeled kitchens. All of which are ten times bigger than mine is. Any photos out there of very small kitchens remodeled with IKEA products? Please let me know.

I'm also afraid of contractors! Don't laugh. Any contractors suggested to work with in the metro Washington DC area? Again, please let me know.

I went to the College Park store on Monday and tried to figure out where to start. I was there for three hours.

I want a poppin' IKEA kitchen.

The IKEAFANS site has lots of pics of all types of kitchens - large and small. You can view these in the galleries.

You already took your first step by visiting IKEA and indulging in the different layouts, colors, interiors, etc. What will now help you is to take accurate measurements of your kitchen (walls, windows, doors, opening, elelctrical, plumbing, etc) and then download the IKEA planner. There are tutorials here that will help you navigate it a lot easier than without it.

Once you've done your layout, post your layout here and folks will provide feedback for you. Abstrakt red looks awesome.

I did a Abstrakt Red kitchen for my sister, but I don't have "after" photos yet. I still have to make the window treatments and stage the final pics. But there are some of my "during" photos in my gallery plus the design boards and 3d computer models.

Welcome! I am relatively new here toom and Eva and the gang here are really helpful and generous with their time and advice!

I'm working on a smallish kitchen right now, but it is being done in modern country style, but I secrelty wanted to do Abstrakt Red!!! So definitely go for it! (My bf wanted a simpler look since this is an old farm house)

I've seen Abstract red in person and in photos and it can definitely look realy cool. SOmewhere on here there's a pic form a magazine with Abstrakt Red ... i think it's under "is it Ikea?"
