I wondered whether anyone here has put the GE 30" induction cooktop (either Profile or Monogram) in the same base cabinet over a GE oven? I'd love to hear which ovens are compatible (installation instructions for the cooktop state only some are, but not which...) Thank you!
I'll join you in waiting for a reply. I'm planning the same combination. I've read and re-read the specs for the cooktop and wish they would just put in there the exact model # ovens that work.
What size cab are you using? It looks (according to the specs) like a 30" cab would be a tight fit. I am undecided, but thinking about going to a 36, just to make sure everything isn't squashed together.
I got the following response from GE about which ovens can be installed under the GE Profile PHP900: The following 30" wall ovens can be installed underneath our 30" induction cooktops. I have included the model numbers below for your convenience. - 30" Single Ovens:
PT916 "M" Series , Profile - Convection, Self Clean
JTP70 "M" Series , GE- Convection, Self-Clean
JTP30 "M" Series , GE Self-Clean - 27" Single Oven -
PK916 "M" Series, Profile, Convection, Self-Clean
JKP70 "M" Series, GE, Convection, Self-Clean
JKP30 "M" Series, GE, Self-Clean
JKS10 "M" , Traditional, Standard Clean - Black Only
Very helpful. Now I'll ask about which can fit under the Monogram 30" cooktop.
We purchased the JTP30BMBB. I wanted to get a convection oven, but we were already spending so much on the cooktop I had to cut back somewhere. And, since we don't use the oven 7 months of the year (it makes the house way too hot in summer) and I'm not much of a baker, its not a big disappointment.
Of course, now I have to go buy some induction compatible cookware. All-Clad is not cheap. I'll have to investigate some more affordable options.
I did end up ordering a 36 inch base for the combo. We're using a 36 in hood and I wanted the upper and lower cabs to line up.
Have a look on the GW website for cheap induction cookware: there was a thread recently that included links for All-Clad outlet and some cheaper stuff from QVC that people reckoned worked pretty well. I never got a reply about the Monogram ovens, but in the meantime I've decided to put the oven in a separate oven cabinet. Glad it worked out for you!
I looked into this: both GE and AEG do, but for AEG you have to get them from Euro-line Appliances in
Canada
. The appliances are lovely, but expensive with the Canadian dollar exchange rate. Euro-Line-Appliances | Cooking
