Hi can anyone recommend a Stainless steel range hood (perferably with lots of CFM) that fits under a 30" wall cabinet but it has to vent outside. I will cut a hole for the chimney pipe in the 30"W x 30"H wall cabinet

Have a look at the nutone/broan "allure" line - they look the same as the one you've pictured and have three levels of quality. We bought the 2nd level because it had a nice range of cfm and was really really quiet. They have the option for venting out the top or back. Lowes carries them in house if you want to go have a look in person. We bought ours from an online place called nutonesales or something like that. They were a little slow, but saved us about $50 on the total cost.

Hello, the Lowes Broan price is a bit high, next higher one after $200 is like $800. I do like Nutone from Home depot though, are they the same company?

Is your Nutone loud and do you know how many CFM yours is?

I found this Nutone I like..
I downloaded the manual and I like the configurable vent of the nutones in general. I am thinking of getting this one 440 CFM, I really like the appearance and it is 9" high, looks like it will sit below a 30" high cabinet and meet just about flush with the 39" cabinets on the sides, which would look very good I think.

nutone and broan are the same. Ours (allure II) was about $250. I liked the one you show as well, but was unable to see it in a store. We went with the more standard profile in the end. It is definitely pretty, though!

That (the 440 CFM) Broan is the one we're thinking about getting as well. I don't quite get what you're saying about them being flush with the regular 39" cabinets, though. Doesn't the bottom of the hood need to be at least 24" from the cooktop and wouldn't that mean you'd need to put in a cabinet that's shorter than 30"?

The manual for that hood says 18-24" away. Not at least 24"
the 30" cabinet puts it right around 20" but it is too low for me (hitting my head possibly) So I am going to use a 24" tall cabinet which puts it about 24-26" away.

It looks like a good hood I have checked out the broan version but bought the nutone. They look exactly the same to me.

Oops, I must have been looking at something else that said 24" - 30" clearance!
