I just bought a new house and with any luck i'll be moving in this weekend. However i've run into a question i'm not sure about and hopefully you can help.

The kitchen cabinets that were installed have a space for the microwave which I would really like to use. I bought a GE microwave but it just barely fits. Lets just say it's a very snug fit. Only the sides are snug, there is about 2 inches above and obviously the feet provide quite a bit of airflow below.

The left side has some vents on it, but the big vent where the fan blows air out is on the back. If the vents on the side are covered is it going to be ok?

Hi Nick, and congrats on the new home!! The installation instructions for most microwaves usually say what the requirements are for space on all sides - do you still have those? Other possibilities might involve altering the side of the cabinet at all - are these Ikea cabinets, and is there another one adjoining the side with the vents, or is it a finished end that shows? If it's just another cabinet, you might be able to drill a set of small holes to increase ventilation.
