Saw these on I Want That Kitchens last night. Thermador is making separate fridge and freezer "columns" in widths of 18, 24, 30 and 36 inches, configurable however you want. They also accept panels. This is a great idea and perfect for those areas that you can't fit a traditional fridge/freezer.

Thermador Columns Click on the dropdown menu to see all the column cofigurations.

Thank goodness they're Thermador or I'd imagine they'd be a hard sell in the American market!

There are some serious tradeoffs with having a 24" wide true cabinet depth fridge (American food is *huge*!!) but overall, it's worked for me. The best part of my LG fridge is the freezer - I can seriously cram some food in there! Despite how tiny it is, it's *efficient*. Thank goodness for Trader Joe's and their tasty convenience foods *lol*
