Hi There - hoping we can find some help with what has turned out to be a confusing layout scenario. In many Ikea pictures, as well as google searches of Ikea kitchens, I see a dishwasher right next to the sink with no visible panel, spacer, or filler pieces between the two. Yet, there must be something there to support the countertop. Is the door of the dishwasher covering this? Does the top of the dishwasher have any means of support?
A little background. We are using the Domsjo bowl farmhouse sink over it's 24" under sink cabinet. As you're looking at the wall, on the left side is a 15" drawer cabinet, then the sink, then a dishwasher, then a 3" spacer going into the corner (meeting the 24" large 'hideaway' rationelle pull-out carousel starting the perpendicular wall). The issue is that we need to support the countertop where the sink meets the dishwasher. If I do need a support panel, is it secured to the undersink cabinet, or the wall and floor? And, why aren't those support panels visible in any images of farmhouse sinks next dishwashers?
Yet, it also appears that the Domjo sink lip rests on top of the countertop (on the sides). So would I not be able to support the countertop off of the sides of the undersink cabinet?
Really hoping this makes sense and that somebody can help us out! I will be working with a contractor, so we can customize some support issues if needed, but we only have 90" of wall space, so each panel or support piece (or lack thereof) is crucial. Thanks!

Yes, this is very similar to ours:
It's true, you don't need to add anything between the sink and the dishwasher. What you can't see in the images is that, on the dishwasher side, the countertop is being supported by the sink cabinet. You can't see this because there is a little notch cut out of the countertop at the front and so it doesn't look like the counter is extending as far under the sink lip as it really does.
So the undersink cabinet supports the countertop which then supports the Domsjo.

Is it true that the Domsjo sink does not make contact with the metal braces on the cabinet?

Re: Dishwasher next to sink?
Even with 3cm. tops, the sink could rub - they're not even 1 1/4" thick. The sink was designed to sit on IKEA stock tops, which come in at a full 1.5" (most of 'em, anyway).
Like I said on one of your other posts about this - drop the metal bars by a hole, to 5/6 in front, 7/8 in back. The only thing you need to wary of - especially with a 2cm. top, is whether the tops of the doors rub on the sink. You can drop them a little, but not much.
