I just purchased a GE 30" slide-in range which is set to be delivered at the end of the month. However, I concern just crossed my mind that I had not thought about earlier. Currently I have the stove sitting in between two 30" 4-drawer cabinets. Will I have trouble opening up and accessing my drawers with the stove sitting there? Please note, that I have no wiggle room at all in that area. I have a galley kitchen and the wall were the stove is going to go is exactly 90"
Also, the stove is listed as having a 27 1/2" depth. Will this stick out too much since the cabinets only have a 24" depth?
If you check online you should be able to find the installation specs, which will tell you exactly what size the cutout should be. I imagine you'll be fine. And the part that sticks out will be the door and door handles. We have a 30" Jenn-aire slide-in between two drawer units and though we gave ourselves a smidgen more than 30", there's at least that much left over (probably more), so it's just a question of how tricky it is to "slide in" the slide-in!
I too have a GE slide-in - standing/sitting in the middle of my kitchen at the moment, but that's another story alltogether . Less than 30" was left for it according to the specs and it will fit like a glove.
As far as the portion that sticks out beyond the cabinetry drawers, that is OK because you need that clearance for the range door to open.
NBeth and madp67 thanks for responding. Both your posts put my little heart at ease. I was just about ready not to cancel my order and look for another stove. It is interesting, but it seems that slide-ins have are deeper than the freestanding units. I just loved the look of the slide-ins so much more, even though they tend to cost a few hundred $$ more. The stove and the over the range hood was my one indulgence and where I kinda splurged in the kitchen. I hate micro hoods. I see those metal and glass hoods as pieces of art in the kitchen.

LOL! That sounds FAR too familiar! We bought the range early and then had various delays so that thing became a junk catch all in the middle of the construction zone for months! Occasionally inserted then removed due to one issue or another, and the rest of the time carefully shrouded in Ikea cardboard, of course....
I also have a GE slide-in range with drawers on either side with no issues. Here is a pic of how mine turned out, you can see how far it sticks out past the adjacent cabinet.
My GE (Profile) has a lip on it that comes around the countertop that dictated the depth we could install it. You can barely see it in the picture. Anyway from the back of the glass top to the front of that lip is 24". to the front of the handles is 27".
I'm not sure if all of them have that lip that rests on the front of the countertop or not.
