My friend and designer did his kitchen in valcucine and they are easily 6x- so if I am spending $5k on the cabinets in my kitchen, it would be $30k for valcucine. They are on par with Poggenpohl (where I got a general quote of $30k for cheapest cabinets and installation- nothing else), and both are 20% or so more expensive than Leicht, which is apparently in the same neighborhood as Henrybuilt. The most expensive I've heard of is Bulthapt, but that may be unfair to the ability of these other companies to install a very expensive kitchen.

With everything that I have learned here in addition to our own natural prediliction for DIY and getting a good deal, IKEA is the best option. I am even making a convert out of my designer with the lovely valcucine kitchen, I think.

Re: I found the coolest solution for ugly outlets

I put these in my kitchen- however mine are in a raised shelf that sits behind the cabinets. I've been trying to find the post where I commented on putting them in the counter above a cabinet. I believe that the end result was that you could do it, but it would be tight, and you would have to be very precise in your placement of the holes in the countertop. If you got too tight, you could always notch the back of the drawer to allow it to open and close unobstructed by the mockett in the down position. I would download the technical specs from the mockett site for confirmation.

HTH,

Kelly
