Frames only in white and birch? But I wanted Adel Medium Brown!
I'd like to use Adel Medium brown for my cabinets..and so I would like the visible parts of the cabinet to be Adel Medium brown color and not just the doors.... does such a thing exist? When I look to order the cabinets, they come in either white or birch? Is there something I am missing? Thanks so much for your help!! Trice

Hi Trice - nope - you're not missing anything - the cabinet frames come in birch and white - most people using adel mb doors/drawer fronts seem to be using the birch cabinet frames - some people use edge banding on the frame of the cabinet box so that the birch is not seen - if you align the doors you're not going to see the cabinet frame when the doors are closed ... you'd use coverpanels to cover the sides of the cabinet frame for cabinets which are at the ends of your cabinet runs.
I'd encourage you to look around the
galleries
and
blogs
here looking at the finished kitchens - and see if you can see the cabinet frames.
I've got adel birch doors ... I'm sure there will be others posting soon who have adel mb or some of the darker door styles who will comment on what they chose and if the birch cabinet frames are noticeable in their kitchen.

Thanks so much for your reply, I think I understand. Adel Medium Brown was actually
DH
's choice, I think it's dark. I wanted a different Adel and also proposed Tidaholm.
I WILL keep looking at this site - it is a fabulous site and I have already learned a lot in the last half-hour!

Adel MB is probably considered one of the only medium toned cabinets. i used it in my mom's kitchen, she was also concerned about the show-through, but a yr later she's not bothered by it at all.
Tidaholm is a beautiful door (
Tigger
's fave), and probably one of the best constructed. what does hubby think of Tida?

Hubby liked Tidaholm, but our daughter said it looked unfinished. I don't think it does, but between the two of them I felt - outnumbered ;-) having found this site however, I am feeling more supported already! So I will bring back to him the idea of Tidaholm. Thank you! I've got a couple of days worth of painting stuff in the middle of the kitchen and cleanup. Then I will take pics of the FINISHED kitchen and post.
If you've only seen pictures of Tidaholm, they can be misleading. Depending on the light and the surroundings, it can look very light and modern or mellow and vintage.
I love this blue - both the kitchen/family room and the exterior are the same color. It is Sherwin-Williams Meditative. It changes depending on how the light hits it and can look pastel or deep blue.
Since I love Tidaholm nearly as much as James, I say go for it!
