What does the rest of the room look like--appliances, walls, floors, etc?

Its a brand new empty kitchen ... basically, no appliance with white floor tiles and light brown wall tiles.

As for countertop .. I'm planning to install light color LG HIMACS to brighten the kitchen a bit.

My biggest worry is the look of the kitchen ... using fagerland to build a modern kitchen. Will it work?

Hmmm, I think it would look nice, but I'm not sure it would look "modern". To me, fagerland is one of the most traditional/countryish door styles

I would have to agree with NYC_home. I don't know if you can make Fagerland look modern...contemporary touches, maybe, but I don't know how you could make it look modern. If you can, I'd love to see it!

I've used Stat White, which is a somewhat countryish cabinet with some contemporary touches (i.e. Capita legs, stainless appliances, etc) and I think it works, but I wouldn't say that it looks modern by any stretch. You judge....

Contemporary touches on the dishwasher in a pretty traditional setting....

Why is it that you're hooked on Fagerland (a very country, traditional style)if you have modern sensibilities? Is it a challenge thing? You like the wood look? You want solid wood? If you can give us a better idea of why you want to do what you want to do, we might be able to better help you formulate a plan...

If you like wood - I think TIDAHOLM would be an easy one to "mod up" - Fagerland, with all it's knottiness, is really the country-ish of all the styles...

Numerar are the square metal legs, right? I have the Capita and I really love them.

OK I manage to upload the pictures.Â* As you can see, I'm going for minimalist and linear looking kitchen.

Over here, the only solid wood available are fagerland and ulriksdal !!!

BTW ... pls imagine thatÂ*there isÂ*another 1 foot of countertop on the peninsular for the breakfast table.

Nice layout--you've achieved linear and modern for sure with the design. I'm guessing your cooktop/oven and dishwasher (if you have one) is on another wall?

Where's "over here" that you only have Fagerland and Ulriksdal? I'm curious as I've never heard of entire door styles being unavailable in some areas.

By George, mdmee, I think you've done it. Just further proof that if you open yourself up to the possibilities...

I really like the crisp linear feel you have created - and it just goes to show that I was "stuck in the box" since Fagerland represents one of the largest displays in my local IKEA and it's way countrified.
