I saw, I love it, and I really want it in my new kitchen, but I'm a little hesitant to buy a ceramic kitchen sink. Won't it break and/or chip easily? I would love to hear what folks have to say about their experiences with this fabulous looking vessel.
Re: What's your review on the Domsjo kitchen sink?
I've been using mine for over a year now and still LOVE the sink. It's deep and big - no cracks or chips in mine ... I've only heard of cracks if the sink was dropped prior to installing. The ridges are a bit difficult to keep clean (in my house anyway....) but I'd buy it again!!!
I'm sure you'll love it ... and it will be a nice focal point in your kitchen. If you've looked at any of the other apron sinks from other sources you'll know what a bargain the IKEA domsjo sink is.

Re: What's your review on the Domsjo kitchen sink?
I never hesitated about getting the Domsjo because of what it is made of. I grew up in an old house with all ceramic fixtures and we never had a problem with any of them. Even after my parents rented out that old house to numerous people for 30 years, not one fixture had any chips in it.
Think about it - toilets are made out of ceramic! Do you worry about chipping or breaking your toilet?
Now I did just about have a heart attack when the woman measuring our kitchen windows for shades STOOD on the Domsjo. And yes - I am the one whose tile guy broke our first Domsjo while installing it (he thought it was down in the opening during the final test fit, let go and it dropped another inch and broke both corners ). But those corners are well supported once the sink is in so I don't worry about it breaking now.
Now that it is installed and we are using it, I love it!

True, but then I'm not emptying a heavy 4 quart stock pot into my toilet.
I'm wondering how the sink has held up after someone dropped something into it. I read on another forum where someone dropped a wine bottle into the sink and the bottom cracked out. YIKES!
I'm thinking maybe a stainless steel raised grate or a rubber mat in the bottom would be helpful.

I got a chip out of my double domsjo in the first couple months on the flat portion that rests on the countertop. I'm still not sure how it happened (so I blame my

). Wish I knew how it happened. Very annoying. We are pretty gentle with the sink, but must have clipped it with a pot.

I dropped something on the corner of my double domsjo & the corner chipped of.. I was so mad, until I did a little research & found some enamel filler - the chip was clean, so a little superglue & some of the filler & you would (almost) never notice it...

We've had our in since Thanksgiving - now Mid March. No problems, no stains and amazingly we had a floating shelf full of glass pictures fall off the wall and into the sink.

The sinks looks pretty good. I was also looking at a Ticor sink. The one I was looking at was a 16 gauge sink. It comes with grids and strianer and you can get a cutting board as well. I got it from Kitchen Sink,Faucet & Apron Sink| Galaxy Tool Supply
