I will have a run of the shallow depth bases, and would really like to include a trash pullout if that is possible. I've been searching on this site and getting good ideas for trash pullouts in general, but nothing specifically related to the shallower depth bases. I would only need to fit one trash can (most pullouts seem to have 2 - one for trash, one for recycling)
Any ideas how to make this work with either IKEA or Rev-A-Shelf mods?

Hello Mary:

You should be able to do this by mounting a drawer in the base of the cabinet, and attaching a standard door front to it. However, the door may pull on you, and that might be bothersome and eventually cause it to warp. I showed something about my process with this here: Shallow or 12" deep drawer for undersink pullout: will it work? Look for post #12 to show the comparison of short vs regular depth drawers.

I'm not sure if there is any other type of pullouts that would work in the shallow cabinets. Perhaps someone else will come along with a brilliant modification!

what if you attached the garbage can to the door and used tip-out hinges (like what's used for tip-out trays under sinks, only heavier duty to support the weight of the door plus the full trash can)?
