| Granite sealing: cloudiness?
We have granite! It was installed on Friday, and so on Sunday, we did the process to seal it, as we were instructed.
We started with two coats, and then went to the movies. When we got home, there seemed to be some lingering cloudy/streaky parts despite our careful work, so based on some research we did, we did a third coat last night when we got home. And it looked great!
This morning, I was thrilled to be able to set my electric teapot on the counter and make some tea. When I spilled a little water, I grabbed a dishrag to wipe it up...and there was the streaky cloudiness again! When I touch the counter, it feels just the tiniest bit tacky, and when I rub it with anything--a towel, my hand, whatever--it leaves cloudy streaks.
Now I know most people will theorize that I put too much sealant on and it left residue, but I assure you we didn't. We used the tiniest amount and vigorously buffed until it shone. And if it DID leave residue, how am I supposed to clear it up and buff it out. I am talking we were exhausted by the time we were done buffing, we were doing it so dilligently.
Little help from those familiar with granite sealing maybe?
