I'm leaning towards a stainless sink, but that Domsjo is really pretty. Not sure about double availability at College Park, but I'm going soon. Is it hard to keep clean?

If you look over on gardenweb forums, I remember seeing threads about keeping fireclay sinks clean. That's what the Domsjo is, I believe. With 6 months of use, ours is getting a little bit dingy, but I - perhaps naively- attribute this to my aversion of using serious cleaning products with bleach and other toxic chemicals, and the fact that no other family member would ever think of actually trying to clean the sink. Its clean level is about the same as the Kohler cast iron sink I replaced. It's been too long since my last stainless sink for me to make a reasonable comparison. That said, I love the Domsjo in every way!

IKEA plans to have the double sink in stock in all locations this year - but I'm not sure about the actual timeline.

I googled "Cleaning Fireclay sinks" and found this:

Fireclay/Ceramic

Clean these surfaces with mild soap and warm water. Then, dry with a soft cloth. For heavy duty cleaning, use any general purpose cleaner.

I can't wait to have my kitchen done and clean mine!

Good to know! But seriously, does anyone ever dry a sink with a soft cloth??
