getting ready to order and I am making my lists of what I need. Things that are not on the planner. I think we pretty much have our design all in place and now I am making a list of the extra things that I need.
a) drawer dampers are sold in packages of 2. Does it require two per drawer?
b) we are doing recessed lighting and our contractor and electrcian has stated to get extra shelves so they can drill into the bottom to recess the lights. For the horizontal cabinets which are just a touch bigger are the shelves still 30 inches?
c) we are taking a 12x30 cabinet and flipping it on its side for above the stove and making it a horizontal cabinet. Can you buy the hardware for this separately?
d) how wide do the filler pieces come?
I am sure I had a few other questions...but drawing a blank all of a sudden...
oh well this is a good start LOL
I'm pretty sure you should not flip a cab to make it horizontal. That's because the weight is supposed to be on the sides and yours would end up wrong. Why not use the 15" high one?

Not sure but extra shelves won't match the size of the cabinet - they're designed to fit inside... maybe I'm confused here

I don't think this is a good idea. The cabinet is designed to hang one way.

Could they have meant cover panels? or are you putting recessed lights inside the cabinets.
what door style and cabinet colour are you going with.
I am with the above - the cabinets are designed to hang the way they are designed - I don't think it is a good idea to use a vertical wall cab as a horizontal.

The recesed lights will be under cabinet lighting. It was suggested both at ikea, the installers and electrican to buy an extra shelf to place on the botom inside the cabinet so they can recess the lights flush with the underneath of the cabinet.
The reason for the flipped cabinet is my overthe range microwave with a 15 inch cabinet does not meet code and is too far down because of bulk heads that I can not do anything about in the condo. This is from installers who deal ONLY in ikea cabinets nothing else and when they came out to do measurements and looked at our plans this was suggested.
