Hey all -
I have a kitchen design planned that has a 18" drawer next to an Oven enclosure ( BO30 next to a B4D18). Well, the IKEA Home Planner software pops up a warning against it. Any idea why? I would think that between the two cabinets, there would be adequate insulation...

BTW - I'm in the middle of installing a full IKEA DEMO kitchen purchased form the Emeryville store - I may have saved a lot of $$ but prolly bought a few more headaches as well. Pictures are in a Picasa album at: Picasa Web Albums - Tom - KitchenRemodel . I'll update with photos as I proceed.

One early headache is disassembling the kitchen - i got it in huge modules and need to reconfigure the elements, so i have to take it apart. I dunno if i will be able to reuse the counter tops..

Hi and welcome! How cool you bought a demo kitchen...that sounds like an interesting experience!

The reason the planner is warning you is because it is very worried that some hyperactive young tot will pull the drawers out and make a sort of staircase that will allow said tot to climb right up onto the stove! Maybe that's a big problem in Sweden, I don't know....

I am having just those and our Australian planner did not warn me , perhaps they know I am past kiddies ???? However, I just could not place three rows of wall cabinets as a "dresser" in the dining part of my kitchen on our planner... anyhow, I love the look and functionality of drawers, the only no drawer cabinet will be the sink one.

Thanks for the reply Diva - I also finally stumbled across the Planner doc thread and it explained a lot of the 'quirks' of the Planner..

OK it's the range part that's setting off whistles in the planner, not cooktops?
